Dinner Rolls

Remember these?????
Yup they are as yummy as they look!
I am FINALLY getting around to posting the recipe for those who wanted it! Sorry I am so slow!

I got the recipe from my favorite cookbook, Our Best Bites. If you don't have this cookbook you need to get it right now! I have used this cookbook more than any other book I own. The recipes are simple and delicious.

What you will need is:
                            2 cups WHOLE MILK
*Whole milk is essential the the lightness and flavor
1/2 Cup +1 Tablespoon sugar, divided
                            1/3 Cup Butter
                            2 teaspoon Kosher salt
2 packages (4.5 teaspoons) active dry or bread machine yeast
                            2/3 cup warm water
                            8-9 cups all-purpose flour, divided
*I used whole wheat flour and I only needed 7 cups
                             3 beaten eggs

Steps:
              1. Combine milk, 1/2 Cup sugar, butter and salt in a pan. Heat until the butter melts. (Taste   this... It's yummy)
              2. Allow this yummy mixture to cool until it is lukewarm. This step is important because if it is to hot it will kill the yeast.
              3. While the mixture is cooling, dissolve the yeast and 1 Tablespoon sugar in warm water. Let stand for about 10 mins. If the yeast hasn't bubbled, you will need to redo this step.
              4. In a large bowl, Combine 3 Cup flour and milk mixture. Beat on low for 30 seconds. Add Yeast mixture and beat on high for 3 minutes. Add beaten eggs.
               5. Stir in as much of the remaining flour as needed to make a soft dough. The dough should be very soft and coming away from the sides of the bowl, but still stick to your fingers. If you add to much flour the rolls will become very heavy and dense.  Place the bowl in a warm place, cover with a clean towel. Allow to rise for 1 hour
               6. Punch down dough. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide in half. Spray your glass pans with cooking spray. Roll first portion of dough into a rectangle and cut it into 12 equal-sized pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place it in the pan.
               7.  After all the dough pieces are in the pan, cover with a clean cloth and allow to rise for 30 minutes. Preheat Oven to 375 degrees F
               8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown
               9. After your remove from the oven, rub the rolls with a cold stick of butter

Go ahead and eat a few when they are fresh out the oven! You won't regret it, I promise! :)

Home is where the heart is!

I was so blessed to get to go back to Utah/Idaho for a week and a half to see my Nephew Tayton get baptized and my new niece Blakeli's blessing. I had SO much fun! Going back to work really sucked. :(
When my parents picked me up from the airport we headed straight for Siegfried, My favorite German restaurant! After that we headed to Levi and Kali's house so I could meet baby Blakli! She is such a pretty, perfect, sweet baby! She makes a lot of cute faces when she is awake!

She looks SO much like a Winward!

Saturday was the Baptism/Blessing. It was such a special day! We are so lucky that Tayton is still here with us. We are SO thankful that he is doing good all things considered.

Saturday was also Tayton's birthday! Happy May the fourth be with you day! Very appropriate for a little boy that LOVES Star Wars! Rylan and I had fun celebrating and ate way to much cake!

After the party, Brooke and I went to City Creek and shopped our little hearts out! It was so much fun to catch up with Brooke! She is my best friend and like my sister! I stayed the night at her house in Logan that night... We stayed up WAY to late. I was falling asleep standing ha!
Sunday morning I headed up to Idaho to see Brady's side of the family. I had way to much fun playing with Wyatt! He is getting SO big. He is adorable. We went to the zoo and Reeds Dairy.

Had some fun taking pictures!

Tuesday night my Dad took me fly fishing up Ogden Canyon! I had never been fly fishing before so I was pretty excited to go and spend some time with my dad!

We even caught our own bate! We rolled rocks over in the river to catch these creepy little stone flies!

We didn't have much luck! We only had two bites the entire time! This beautiful fish was the only one we caught!

Wednesday we went up to Logan and did some shooting!  We shot a little H&R Magnum pistol!

Folks, You don't want to mess with my momma when she is shooting this gun! She is one good shot (I can't say the same thing when it comes to her and the 12 gauge)!

Shooting the 12 gauge made me feel like I was a true redneck! I loved it (besides the fact that my shoulder almost fell off afterwards).

Friday Tayton had another surgery. I got to have this pretty lady all day long! We had such a fun girls day and she wore me out... We went to the Willow Park Zoo. She is so smart!

After the zoo we played at the park! I think that I did about a million under doggies! This girl could swing for hours!

Friday night Bryn and Andria came back down. We headed out to Crystal Hot Springs! The kids wanted to drive with Aunt Kayla. I felt like I was driving a Clown car! These are some crazy, cute kiddos!

Tanna came with us the airport. She was a real happy camper as you can tell... She "just wanted something fun to do." She forgot her happy meal toy at the house. Boy her life is real complicated.

Utah is one of the most beautiful places EVER! I had so much fun with everyone!
